Butter Cookies 🎄

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 c All-Purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 c (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 3/4 c granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (more to taste)
  • 1 tsp almond extract (more to taste)

Directions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350
  • Whisk flour and salt; set aside
  • Beat butter and sugar until smooth
    • Ideally in a stand mixer with paddle attachment; medium-high for ~2 minutes
  • Add egg, vanilla, and almond – beating continuously
  • Slowly add flour and salt
  • Use cookie press to make desired shapes
  • For best results, decorate before baking
  • Bake 6-9 minutes, remove promptly to wire rack for cooling
